countries with the largest number of such facilities are the United States (104), France (59), Japan (56), Russia (31) South Korea (20), United Kingdom (19), Canada (18), Germany (17), India (17) and Ukraine (15)
For supporters of nuclear energy, utility and cost of these plants are largely consistent production and performance, not subject to variations weather (as in renewables) and its not CO2 pollution ( own fossil fuels like coal and oil) .
However, another large part of the world population, are a constant threat and serious accidents, because - despite all the security measures taken - there are always unforeseeable contingencies ( human error , undetectable failures, terrorist attacks and in case of war, natural factors such as earthquakes and tsunamis, etc ) who advocate a certain probability that such accidents will happen sooner or later .
