Flying to the Canary Islands ANTI-LAW

Flying to the Canary Islands

I decided to fight the cold winter in continental Europe a few days to warm up leaving the Canary Islands archipelago.

For those who read this blog (that is visits from more than 100 countries ) and do not know geographic locations, they say that it is a island region English located in the southernmost part of the continent ( lat. N 27 º 37 'and long. O 29 º 25' ) far removed from it ( about 1400 km away ), but near the northwest coast of Africa ( on a 100/350 km)

The archipelago consists of seven main islands El Hierro, La Gomera, La Palma, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and other smaller islands.

has a subtropical climate influenced by the proximity of the Sahara desert, with a average annual temperature of 20 º C , although there are variations (microclimate) because of the altitude and geographical location; climate is perfect for summer and especially for winter peacefully.

This, coupled with its beaches and landscapes as well as European culture and very English, lead to a major tourist flow , both citizens of other regions of Spain - this is my case - and from different countries ( especially British and German)

The origin of the islands is volcanic :
Mount / Teide volcano of 3,718 m, situated on the island of Tenerife, is the highest peak of Spain and is also the third largest volcano on Earth after Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea .
is known that between 10 and 3 million years ago occurred underwater and surface eruptions that formed the structure of Tenerife, and 150 thousand years ago influenced his new eruptions relive, a large explosion gave rise to the Caldera de Las Cañadas, 9 of 16 km.
Christopher Columbus in 1492, going through the Canaries way of America, quoted in his log that large flares out Teide summit.
Since then he has had other eruptions, the last in 1798 and now the volcano is still active with the emission of fumaroles.
In 2004 there were 200 small earthquakes probably cusados \u200b\u200bvolcano magma movements.

There are four National Parks of great beauty and originality: Parque Nacional del Teide (Tenerife), Timanfaya National Park (Lanzarote), Garajonay National Park (La Gomera) and the National Park Caldera (La Palma ) -----------------------------------------------

But today I will refer primarily to my first stage, the

LANZAROTE FLIGHT FROM MADRID: We traveled

more than 100 people aboard a Boeing , which has a length and a wingspan of about 30 by 30 m , and supports , rises and lands with a weight ( the device plus load ) of about 50 to 70 tons ( quite a feat, although we are accustomed to their daily activity, and no longer surprise us!)
His cruise is about 800 km / h and I must say that both take-off and landing flight, which lasted about 2 hours was as smooth and quiet: its performance was hardly noticeable during the journey, allowing read, sleep or talk quietly.

are to be commended this technological advance aeronautics and the experience and excellent pilot training so expertly manage those huge and heavy "bus (or boat) with wings."
Congratulations pilot friends!

------------------------------------- In the following days I will tell you like some of the interesting parts of these islands, starting with Lanzarote, where I am today, with about 24 º C at midday, and wearing a splendid sun .
